Bring on Spring Break!!!!

I dont know about everyone else but while it may be a couple weeks off, I am definitely ready for spring break. But what is better than spending the remainder of your time here before break than with PAD? (dont answer that) Also congrats to all of our newly bidded rushes! This is the largest rush class that PAD has ever had at UNC and I have to say y'all rock! Getting down to business, this week we have a general meeting on Thursday at 7pm in Gardner 106 for us to just sit down and discuss what is going on with PAD and talk about upcoming events and such. No online RSVP is necessary, as I will be taking attendence at the meeting. As always feel free to email me or comment if you cant make the meeting. Have an awesome week and I hope to see you on Thursday (if I survive my midterms God willing)!

Interviews, Stuff This Week Etc....

Being that this is bid week, we have a lot of events and please try to make the majority of them as the bid decisions have yet to be made. Here is the schedule as follows for this week:

Interviews - 2nd floor Gardner Hall Monday.Tuesday, Wednesday
*There will be signs of where to go on the second floor posted out Gardner 105/106, please wear business casual attire

Tuesday, February 21 - Sarah Brandt of the Princeton Review, Gardner 209 7 pm
*There will be pizza and soda served at the event, please wear business casual for the speaker

Thursday, February 23 - mixer with law fraternity at the Carolina Brewery, 7pm
*The Carolina Brewery is located on Franklin street down past Hams going towards Carrboro, casual attire is fine

Saturday, February 25 - retreat, meet at ATM's behind Davis at 6 pm.
*The retreat has been changed from paintball to laser tag due to cost and liability issues. It will be held in Raleigh. We are currently looking for people to volunteer to drive people for the event. Casual attire is fine.

Tuesday, February 28- Dues for the semester are due to the treasurer Sara Furlow

*Since this is rush week I am assuming that everybody can make every event so RSVP is not necessary (however I will still be taking attendence at events). If there are extenuating circumstances requiring you to miss an event please email me or write on the comments section. While I understand that schedule conflicts arise, I unfortunately have to be a little more strict about attendence this week so I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE you to try and make everything.

This Week...

This week is when we start getting everything rolling before rush pickup! Definitely exciting times. On Thursday we will be having a meeting at 7pm in Gardener 106 in which you will be responsible for the membership test, just flip through the PAD information handout we gave out last meeting and you should be fine. After the meeting is the first gathering of the mock trial team. While encouraged to join mock trial, attending the mock trial meeting is purely optional. Also there has been a change of the date and time of the social this week due to organizational event conflicts. The social is on FRIDAY (17th) at 6pm at BW3s (Buffalo Wild Wings) on West Franklin Street opposite side of the road from Granville and Panera Bread. I will take attendence at the meeting so no need to RSVP for the meeting but PLEASE RSVP ON THE COMMENTS SECTION FOR THE BW3s SOCIAL so we can have an idea how many members/rushes are coming. Hope everyone is having an awesome week!

Thursday Meeting

This Thursday (February 8th) we will be having a meeting at 7pm in Gardener 106. This is for MEMBERS AND RUSHES. We will be having Ice Breakers so everyone can get to know each other and will be having open discussion for upcoming PAD events. Again, I will be taking attendence at the event so online RSVP is not necessary. However, if you cant make it feel free to comment or email me with the reason why you cant. Also for those who are concerned about the event going on this weekend, it has been cancelled so dont worry about it. A few of us are going out to eat after the meeting on Thursday so anybody interested in coming along are welcome but this is purely optional.

Hey all, this Tuesday the Assistant Dean of Admissions from Elon Law School will be coming in to talk about law school. THIS IS A MANDATORY EVENT. The meeting will start at 6pm in Gardener 106 and we will try our best to get you all out as early as possible to watch the UNC vs. Duke game. No online RSVP is necessary for the event, I will take attendence at the meeting. However if you cant make it to the event either post it on the comments of this posting or feel free to email me. Hope to see everyone there!

First Social Event

Hey everyone the first rush social event is on this Saturday, February 4th. This is going to be a great opportunity for rushes to become acquainted with the brothers as well as getting to know each other. The event is being held at Zogs pool hall at 5pm. Zogs is located at 108 Henderson street off of Franklin, near Hectors and East End Martini Bar. Since there has been some concern about the location, I have decided that all rushes should meet in front of the Post Office/Courthouse on Franklin right across the street from Hectors and East End. Also since there have been a few issues with attendence for the event, please RSVP on this site. To do so CLICK ON THE LARGER HEADER NEXT TO THE TITLE OF THIS POST (i.e. "First Soical Event") WHICH SAYS COMMENTS AND HAS A NUMBER NEXT TO IT. This will open the comment section and will allow you to leave your name and a message if you are coming or not. For those who are "technology challeneged", you may email me for this event if you are confused and I will go over it again at the next meeting. Hope to see everyone there!

NOTE OF GREAT IMPORTANCE: BRING AN ID TO THE EVENT, ZOGS IS ONLY 18+ BUT YOU HAVE TO SHOW AN ID PROVING YOU ARE OVER 18
